What is Business Intelligence?

Simply put, Business Intelligence is about taking all of the information assets of the business, whether that's held in databases or documents, and getting that out to the organisation in a way that empowers people to make better decisions and increase business efficiency.

Its much more than just reporting, its an end to end solution which incorporates everything from how we manage our data within the organisation , how we can create and present dashboards to how we communicate this within the business and externally to those who we wish to give information to.

What is the different between a "Plug-in" and a "Tailor-made" solution?

A "Plug-in" solution is an application where the integration between the solutions has already been established. In the case of Decision Solutions Legal–i it has already identified the source of the information required from practice management solutions and has already identified standard calculations required to be applied to the source data which result in a 'measure' in Legal-i.

A "Tailor- made" solution involves starting with a 'blank canvas' in some cases. The next stage will be to work with the Client to understand what their business intelligence requirement is, what information they need and in what form and what calculations they use to produce their figures or KPI’s. Once this is known, Decision Solutions will then build a solution specific to their needs and required calculations.
